A message from The Chairman – The spirit of rugby at its finest
Our match last Saturday provided the opportunity for us to showcase all that our club has to offer. We welcomed touring side Mold who made the journey from North Wales. Their teams joined our own mini and junior section along with other local teams for an action packed morning of matches, with everyone gathering together to watch the first team victory in the afternoon.
In addition, off the pitch we hosted an event in the Reddings suite for 400 local business people providing them the facility to strengthen their networks and witness the community spirit that Birmingham Moseley Rugby engenders.
These events were long in their planning and required great effort, organisation and teamwork to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
The Board and I would like to offer our thanks for all the hard work and time invested by Louise Baggaley and our mini and junior section in arranging and organising the day and to James Preston and Mike Caves for organising the logistics. Thanks also go to Kate Edwards and Jayne Morris for managing the hospitality so brilliantly. I must also highlight the work that all the volunteers put in that helped to make events on and off the pitch a great success.
A mention must also go to our first team captain, Ollie Steadman who moved straight from the final whistle to join some of our touring guests to share insights about his role as team captain and putting them through their paces with some exercise drills. No mean feat following a physical 80 mins on the pitch beforehand!
I felt very proud of our club and its community spirit on Saturday and I’m sure that everyone who visited the club left with fond memories of their day at Billesley Common.
