First XV // Tuesday 12th November 2019

Congratulations to Pete on his appointment for the tour of Romania in June

Former assistant coach Chris Wilkins will move into the head coach role, whilst Peter Glackin – current head coach of Birmingham Moseley – will take up the assistant role ahead of England Counties’ two game tour of Romania in June 2020.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the tours I’ve been on previously,” said Wilkins, who coaches National Two South side, Esher. “I look forward to preparing a team that will represent the national leagues, the county championship and the whole of the community game with pride and distinction come June.”

England Counties is the flagship team of the community game in England and offers players from National League One and below the opportunity to represent their country.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to a fantastic professional environment on the tour to Romania,” added Glackin. “I’ve followed the England Counties senior squad’s progress for many years as it is the pinnacle of representative rugby in the community game.”

The England Counties squad of 24 will be selected in May at the conclusion of the Bill Beaumont County Championships.
