First XV Team

Birmingham Moseley has historically been one of the leading Clubs in the British Isles, particularly during their most successful period of the 1970’s, and have regularly provided players to International, Regional and County sides since its founding in 1873.

Highlights of the teams long history include winning a Silver medal at the 1900 Paris Olympics, representing Great Britain as “Moseley Wanderers” and becoming joint winners (with Gloucester) of the RFU Knock-out Cup in 1982.

After being repurchased by its members in 2002 following falling into administration in 1998, the team has been rebuilding for a return to it’s former place among the very highest echelons of the game. A major step on this journey was the relocation of the club to Billesley Common for the 2005/6 season. The squad, always playing attractive rugby, include a good proportion of players who have come up through the youth development teams.

In 2009 the first team emulated the success of their 80s predecessors wining the EDF National Trophy at Twickenham, beating Premiership side Leeds.
