Birmingham Moseley announce the first new signing for 2022/2023
Adam Balding, Birmingham Moseley Director of Rugby, is pleased to announce the first of his new signings for the 2022/2023 season.
Adam has the backing of the Club Board to make a serious bid for promotion to The Championship next season.
With a mix of established players retained from last season and players recruited in key positions, Adam is confident that the club can regain its position as one of England’s premier clubs.
Adam has brought in centre/wing Rob Knox to the club from neighbours, Coventry.
Rob was raised and educated in Coventry taking up rugby at Coundon Court School, later to join highly rated club side, Barkers Butts.
Coventry were quick to see the potential in Rob and recruited him for the 2013 season. He has remained at Coventry ever since notching up over 150 appearances.
Rob has the skills to play at both inside and outside centre as well as on the wing. He also has a reputation for successful long range goalkicking.
Rob was renowned in The Championship for his powerful ball carrying skills and resolute defence. Rob is clearly a very committed club man and we are very glad that he has chosen Birmingham Moseley where he will bring substantial experience to the back line.
Adam Balding said of Rob’s signing “Rob has been a club stalwart at Coventry for nearly ten seasons and I am really pleased he has chosen to continue his career at Billesley Common. His pedigree speaks for itself, showing such consistency of performance at Championship level. It bodes well for the upcoming season to have someone of his pace and power joining what will be a very exciting backline.”
