Letter to Worcester Warriors
I was very saddened to hear of the death of Cecil Duckworth CBE.
Over the years our clubs have enjoyed a friendly rivalry and this has continued despite our respective league positions. Cecil was admired for developing Worcester Warriors from a club in Midlands 2 into one of the premier clubs in the country.
He was a huge driving force in establishing Six Ways as a modern rugby venue as well as a business centre, fully realising it’s potential. This was seen as the way forward and followed by many other clubs.
I know he will be missed by all those connected with the rugby club but more than this, he was respected and renowned for his work in the local community and he will be remembered for the impact he has made.
On behalf of myself and all at Birmingham Moseley Rugby, please accept our sincere condolences.
