Birmingham Moseley scrum half selected to represent Hong Kong in Asian Rugby Championship
Birmingham Moseley Rugby scrum half, Jack Combes, flies out to South Korea on 30th June to meet up with his Hong Kong colleagues before they play in the Asian Rugby Championship on 9th July.
Jack was born and brought up in Hong Kong playing age range rugby before being selected for full International representation in the Junior World Trophy in 2014 and again in 2016.
The Asian Rugby Championship takes place between 4th June 2022 and 9th July 2022. Hong Kong are the defending Champions having won in 2019. The series was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of Covid. The competing teams are, Hong Kong, South Korea and Malaysia. The final being held in South Korea between the hosts and Hong Kong. This final has added significance as it paves the way for the winning nation to go on to play Tonga in Australia in a 2023 World Cup Qualifying match.
Jack until recently was a lecturer in Specialist Sport at Hartpury University before joining R E L Field Marketing as a product trainer for Adidas products earlier this year.
